THE CHAMP CHANGE CHALLENGE

We all have loose change not only in our pockets, but also in our pocketbooks, cars and dresser drawers.  Why not pool all that change and put it to good use?

The FPEA Scholarship Fund is challenging all twelve districts of the FPEA to see which one can collect the most change to donate to the Fund.  So grab a cup, bottle or can and begin collecting your change.  The winning District will be designated the Blue Ribbon District and be recognized the entire year in the FPEA Almanac.

2004 Champ Change winner - District 8
2003 CHAMP Change winner - District 11 for most money collected
2003 Champ Change winner - District 5 for most poundage collected

Champ Change can be given to your FPEA District Director or arrange for your support group or school to collect it during a meeting.  You can also bring your change to the FPEA Florida Homeschool Convention. We will have a controverting station set up at the Convention with 12 containers - one for each FPEA district. We'll count the "poundage" of coins donated by each district. Watch the BIG BOARD to see how your district is doing, and don't forget to "pitch in."

By pooling our seemingly small resources, we can make what is actually a huge difference for the good of homeschooled students.  In the spirit of the old adage, "Many hands make light work," your small change can add up to big dollars if we all work together.  On your mark, get set - look in those sofas and find that change!

OFFICE DEPOT

The Fund is now a participant in Office Depot’s “5% Back to School” Program. This program allows FPEA members to shop at Office Depot and designate The Fund as the recipient of 5 percent in credits on qualifying school-supply purchases. See your local Office Depot store for details.

The 5% Back to School ID for The FPEA Scholarship Fund is 70125424.
So consider buying some of your supplies at Office Depot; when you check out, tell the cashier that you would like to designate The FPEA Scholarship Fund to receive the 5 percent credit, and give the cashier our number. It’s another way you can help us help our kids.

COLLECT BOX TOPS FOR THE FUND!

As a year-round fundraiser, The Fund is collecting box tops. They can be redeemed for cash for use for scholarships and prizes for FPEA members. Contests will be conducted twice this year, with prizes both for top collectors and for those winning a drawing from all participants. Deadline dates for the two contests are October 15, 2004, and March 15, 2005.

Tops received by October 15, 2004, will be used to select winners for the fall drawing; tops received from October 16, 2004, to March 15, 2005, will be used to select winners for the spring drawing.

Also, when making online purchases, visit www.boxtops4education.com and log in with “FPEA” as your school. Use the list of participating merchants on the BOX TOPS page to help The Fund earn money when you shop online.

Here’s what to do:

The coupons, which are part of the packaging for many products, say “BOX TOPS for Education” on them. Participating companies include General Mills, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Green Giant and others (for a complete list, visit www.boxtops4education.com).

Send neatly clipped, unexpired coupons in multiples of 25 to:
